A kettlebell looks like a cannonball with a handle on the top of it. While a lot of people may associate a kettlebell with some of the exercises performed with free weights or machines in the gym, this is far from the truth. Kettlebell exercises bring together strength training and cardio into an effective workout that gets results. Be sure to check out our FAQ section for more information.

Tennessee Kettlebell leads Group Training Classes in the Brentwood/Franklin/Cool Springs Tennessee area taught by certified RKC kettlebell instructors. The classes are endorsed by and affiliated with David Whitley, Master RKC who runs the same format of classes that have been working for years in the Nashville area. Here are some videos of what we do in our classes as well as what others are saying about us:

Kettlebell Training - How Do You Know It's The REAL Thing?

Ever since Pavel Tsatsouline introduced kettlebells to the United States, many have come and gone trying to copy the RKC system. Since the popularity of kettlebells have exploded in recent years, it's important for anyone exploring kettlebells to understand how to spot true kettlebell training.  The most effective system will involve the following:

  • Instruction from the RKC system - the source of kettlebell training in the United States.
  • Emphasis on safety first over anything else
  • World class instruction on technique
  • Ability to assess an individual's movement patterns, apply the proper exercises, and improve how an individual moves.

Beware of Imitators. They usually will include the following:

  • Stacks fitness over dysfunction - inability to assess movement patterns
  • Applying "random acts of fitness" with no rhyme or reason
  • Sells gym memberships rather than help people attain their personal goals
  • Use spin bikes or any other piece of fitness equipment involving mindless cardio

If you have been training somewhere else with kettlebells, click here to verify that you have been learning from a RKC Certified Instructor. If you'd like to take the 2 week challenge to discover why the RKC system is superior, then go here for more information.  We are convinced that after 2 weeks you will see the difference yourself.  What do you have to lose?
